Okie Dokie, the format your video is in right now ( when u first put it on your computer) is H.263 its the format used for video taken from a phone. But to send it via email, you may need to change the format. Your computer should prompt u wt options of formats to choose from, try eeni meeni miny moe till one works. The problem here is that you do not have one of the two parts necessary to play a video, a codec or a container. They must match up correctly or the video will not play.

This explains the : "it worked once but now it doesn't"

"So, in order to play a video file, your setup has to be able to handle both the actual video codec and the container. It's why you can try to play an AVI file and Windows Media Player laughs at you, even though it totally played one a minute ago鈥?the container was no problem, but it didn't have the right codec. Or conversely, even though an iPod could play back an H.264 encoded video, if it was wrapped up in MKV, it won't be able to read it."

It must have the right format and the container to read the information.

SO lol, one of those formats your computer gives u should be the correct one, although i cant tell u which it is specifically, sorry!
